Antioxidant 323

Structural formula:

Specification:

Appearance Dark brown viscous liquid
Sulfur content   9.4%~10.6%
Total chloride  0.1%
Viscosity at 100 °C, centistokes 22~32

Solubility(g/100g solvent at 25°C) Methanol 100

Heptane 100

Toluene 100

Water 1

Application:

Antioxidant 323 has double effect of both free radical termination and hydroperoxide decomposition. It means that it has the double functions of both the primary antioxodant and the secondary antioxidant.and it is also a kind of disulfide compunds.so it t act as vulcanization agent,anti-crystallization agent,antioxidant,catalysts  in the manufacturing of light-colored rosin, disproportionated rosin, rosin resin, rosin esters,resins,adhesives,petroleum oil and waxes and deep processing.

characteristics

① The effects of antioxidation and color-fade of rosin and rosin resins (such as Glycerol ester of rosin, rosin pentaerythritol ester and malic acid resins) can be improved by adding antioxidant 323 with the amount of 0.2% to 0.3%, causing the color to improve with the subtractive effect achieving 2 to 3 units in the Gardner color scale.

② Disproportionation of rosin: antioxidant 323 is an efficient catalyst for the disproportionation of rosin. It converts instable conjugated double bond in the rosin molecule into stable conjugated double bond with an aromatic ring structure, which means to convert the abietic acid into dehydroabietic acid.

The dosage of antioxidant 323 in the process is 0.1% to 0.3%, and optimum amount is 0.2%. Precious metals (such as platinum, palladium) used as disproportionation catalysts could be expensive. Antixodiant 323 is an ideal substitute with good quality and low costs.

③ Anti-crystallization of rosin: Rosin is a non-crystalline transparent solid, but it tends to crystallize. Crystallization of rosin causes a reduction in rosin’s transparency and solubility, affecting its usage. Adding 0.2% antioxidant 323 to the rosin can improve its anti- crystallization performance.

Usage Method

Antioxidant subtractive color agent/bleaching agent 323 is a viscous liquid at room temperature. In industrial applications, it is recommended to preheat the packing drum to 70°C to 80°C to facilitate operations.

Maximum handling and blending temperature 100 °C

Package and storage:
200kgs/iron drum

Recommended storage temperature: 70 °C -75°C

Inversion is forbidden during transportation. Handle with care.

Characteristics:

Antioxidant 1081 is a very popular phenol antioxidant with excellent performance.it is environment-friendly,nontoxic and without coloration.

Applications

① In rubber industry: antioxidant 1018 is a very good antioxidant for  PE,PP,synthetic rubber and latex.products by adding antioxidant 1081 can resist high temperature, prevent UV absorber, reduce the damage of multiple deformation and can passivate the unstable transition metal salt. These performance is more obvious in dry rubber by adding antioxidant 1081(2246-S) than by antioxidant 2246.antioxidant 1081 is environment-friendly and don’t be decolored by exposing it to the sunlight.it is mainly used in producing white sidewall of tires, other light color goods and latex goods.

② In plastic industry: antioxidant 1081 can prevent the heat-aging and light-aging of PE,PVC,polyamide, chlorinated polyether,HIPS,ABS resin, daicel, cellulosic resin etc.especially in the processing of polyamine hot melt adhesive, antioxidant is a very important choice as the main antioxidant.when it is used with phosphite ester assistant antioxidant there is a very good synergistic effect which is much better by using them alone.

③ In oil industry: antioxidant 1081 is an excellent stabilization agent for lubricant, blend diesel fuel, gas oil, engine oil,anti-wear hydraulic fluid.it can prevent these oils from heat-aging and light-aging and inhibit nitryl oxidation.because of the good synergistic effect of S and phenol antioxidant 1081 has good oil solubility.this make it easy and convenient add into these different oils.the comprehensive performance of antioxidant is much better than common kind antioxidant such as T501,L135,L115,DNA,AP-36 and especially suitable for hydrotreated base oil and lubricant.the dosage is just 1/2 of those common antioxidant such as T501.but the final effect is far better than T501.it can improve the quality and level of the finished goods easily and greatly.

① synergistic effect: sulfur-containing hindered phenol antioxidant 1081 is rarely absorbed by the carbon black but has very obvious synergistic effect as when it is used together with carbon black as they are transferred into chemical compounds with greater antioxidant efficacy under the catalysis of carbon black that enhances stability of the polymer.antioxidant 1081 also has good synergistic effect with alkyl phenol or phosphite compounds also.it works very well when used in producing high electrical property plastics.general dosage is 0.1~1 phr.
